Rachael Laurin

Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Hi, I’m Rachael!

I’m a therapist who works with older children, teens, and adults. My professional journey began with counseling teens struggling with substance use disorders, which ignited my commitment to understanding mental health challenges and the profound impact of trauma.

I offer a client-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy, utilizing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to address daily challenges and life transitions. I am also trained in EMDR therapy, which allows me to provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to process past trauma.

I believe that with empathic support and a safe space, individuals can gain deeper self-understanding and develop effective coping strategies to navigate life’s challenges. I am dedicated to collaborating with you to create a personalized plan to support a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

More about me:

I am a native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and deeply value the nature this area offers, especially time spent near Lake Superior and hiking. My appreciation for the healing impact of nature extends to my interest in somatic approaches, which incorporate movement and breathwork. I look forward to using both my life and professional experience to support you through the transitions and challenges life brings.

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based.
